5 days in Paris with hubby đŸ‡«đŸ‡·

5 days in Paris with hubby đŸ‡«đŸ‡·

So basically somewhere in the middle of May we decided to take a little escape to Paris. It wasn’t one of those super long, life-reinventing trips, but more like a “let’s breathe, eat good food and romanticise life a bit” kind of holiday. And honestly
 it delivered exactly that.

We stayed in Hotel Pilgrim right in the center, which already made everything feel easy and walkable. I feel like location in Paris is everything, because you just want to wander without thinking too much about transport. And that’s exactly what we did for 5 days straight.

I’m gonna go day by day and share what we saw and how it felt ✹

Day 1 – the “we’re actually in Paris??” day

The first day was very much going all in. You know that feeling when you’ve just arrived somewhere and everything feels slightly unreal?

We started strong with the Eiffel Tower. And I don’t care how clichĂ© it sounds – seeing it in real life just hits different. It’s way bigger than you imagine and somehow elegant at the same time.

From there we walked through Jardins du TrocadĂ©ro, which had the BEST views of the tower. Honestly, one of those spots where you just stand there thinking “ok wow, this is exactly like the movies.”

Then we made our way to Pont Alexandre III bridge, which might actually be one of the prettiest bridges I’ve ever seen. Very extra, very Paris.

We also walked to Arc de Triomphe and just admired it from below. We didn’t go up, because we were already doing a lot that day, but even from ground level it’s impressive.

And then one of my favourite parts of the day – a boat tour along the Seine river. I loved how relaxing it was after all the walking. Just sitting, floating through the city, seeing all the landmarks from a different perspective
 10/10 experience.

I don’t think there was anything I hated that day. Maybe just that my feet were already slightly dying by the evening 😅

Day 2 – Versailles (aka feeling like royalty for a day)

On the second day we went to Versailles Palace. This was probably one of my favourite days.

And wow
 that place is just insane.

I loved how detailed everything was – the rooms, the ceilings, the gardens. It’s one of those places where you keep thinking “how is this even real?” The scale of it all is just crazy.

The interior design was probably my favourite part. Watching the baroque details felt very romantic and almost cinematic.

I hated that it was quite crowded. Like
very crowded. So if you’re someone who gets overwhelmed easily, that’s something to keep in mind.

Also, it’s a full-day commitment. We were pretty tired by the time we got back to the city.

Day 3 – churches, art and city vibes

This day felt a bit calmer and more cultural.

We went inside Sainte-Chapelle and honestly
the stained glass windows are unreal. The light inside is something else, like being inside a kaleidoscope.

Then we visited MusĂ©e Rodin, which I loved way more than I expected. The interior with sculptures was just beautiful and peaceful. It didn’t feel overwhelming like some big museums can.

We also stopped by Hîtel de Ville, which is just stunning from the outside. Paris really knows how to make even “normal” buildings look important.

What I loved about this day was the slower pace. It felt like we had time to actually take things in, not just rush from one landmark to another.

Day 4 – viewpoints and that perfect sunset

We started with the PanthĂ©on, which felt very grand and historical. Then we went up to Basilique du SacrĂ©-CƓur in Montmartre.

I loved this area. It felt a bit different from the rest of Paris – more artsy, a bit chaotic, but in a charming way. The view from up there is also amazing.

We also walked around the Louvre area (didn’t go inside this time), just soaking in the architecture and atmosphere.

And then
the highlight of the day: sunset at the top of Montparnasse Tower.

This was honestly one of the best decisions of the trip. You get a full panoramic view of Paris, including the Eiffel Tower, and watching the sun go down from there was just beautiful.

I loved that it wasn’t as crowded as I expected. And the view
I would go back just for that.

Day 5 – ending on a classic note

Last day was more chill again.

We went inside the Paris Opera House and WOW. That place is pure elegance. The interiors are just insanely detailed and beautiful.

Then we visited Notre Dame. Even though it’s still recovering, it still holds that powerful presence. It felt a bit emotional seeing it after everything that has happened.

After that we mostly just walked around, grabbed food, and tried to soak in the last moments of the trip.

Overall thoughts

I loved how easy and romantic Paris felt. Just walking around, sitting at cafés, randomly finding beautiful streets
it’s one of those cities where you don’t always need a strict plan.

I loved that 5 days felt like a perfect amount. Not rushed, but also not too long.

I hated (if I have to pick something) how crowded some places were and how expensive things can get. But honestly, that’s expected.

Would I go back?

100%.

There’s still so much we didn’t see, and even the things we did see, I would happily experience again.

Next time I would probably:

  • spend more time just chilling in cafĂ©s
  • maybe visit fewer “big” attractions
  • and just enjoy the slow Parisian vibe even more

But overall
such a dreamy little trip with my husband đŸ€
