Travelelli is a travel blog run by Elli and Simon from Estonia. This page explains what personal data we collect when you visit travelelli.com, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. Questions: travelelli@sumerch.com.
What we collect
When you sign up. If you subscribe or create a member account, we store your email address, your name if you give it, and which newsletters you get. We use this to send you new posts and to let you sign in.
When you pay. If you buy a paid membership, Stripe handles the payment. We see your name, email and subscription status. We never see or store your card details.
When you email us. We keep your message and email address so we can reply.
When you browse. With your consent, Google Analytics records which pages you visit, roughly where you are (country or city), your device and browser, and how you found us. We use this to see which stories people read. Before you consent, Google only receives anonymous signals without cookies.
Cookies
We use Cookiebot to ask for your consent. Cookies needed to run the site (keeping you signed in, remembering your cookie choice) are always on. Statistics and marketing cookies only run if you allow them. You can change your choice at any time with the link in the cookie list below.
Who processes your data for us
- Ghost (Ghost Foundation) hosts the website, member accounts and newsletters.
- Mailgun delivers our newsletter emails on Ghost's behalf.
- Stripe processes payments for paid memberships.
- Google Analytics (Google Ireland) measures visits, only with your consent.
- Cookiebot (Usercentrics) manages cookie consent.
Some of these companies may process data outside the EU. Where they do, they use the safeguards required by EU law, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Why we're allowed to
We send newsletters and run memberships because you asked us to (contract and consent). We run analytics and marketing cookies only with your consent. We keep payment records because accounting law requires it.
How long we keep it
Member data stays until you delete your account or unsubscribe and ask us to remove you. Payment records are kept for 7 years, as Estonian accounting law requires. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, and you can withdraw consent at any time. You can unsubscribe from any newsletter with the link at the bottom of every email. To do anything else, email travelelli@sumerch.com. If you think we've handled your data badly, you can complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon, aki.ee).
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Big changes get an email to members.
